What is its purpose?
The purpose of this is to get more people online using ICT. BT are doing this as they want people to be online as they are then potential customers as they are more likely to use BT as their internet provider.
How it relates to the digital divide?
It encourages people who probably need and who are very unlikely to have the internet, to get the internet. Which is bridging the gap between the digital divide.
Who are it main target clients?
It is targetting elderly people and parents because elderly people as BT can be more certain that they will stay customers because they are less likely to search for better deals. By targeting kids are likely to put their parents under pressure to keep paying for the internet if the parents consider stopping.
What are it strengths and weaknesses?
"nearly 40 percent of adults are forced to rely on their children to help them cope with the online world" So it is a good idea using peoples children to help. Children may be reluctant to help. People may be reluctant to ask for help from their children.
What improvements could be made?
The improvements are that you can make is to train adults who will also be able to help with the project.
