What advantages are there for the developed world in bridging the global digital divide?

What are the advantages for the poorest nations?
Makes them dependent from the developed countires and allow them to grow and flourish on there own. It can help them fight poverty.

Was President clinton correct in saying that matching internet access levels with telephone levels will do as much as anything to reduce income equality?


Do charities such as Computer Aid do more good than harm?
I think that Computer Aid can do more harm because we are giving computers who are underprivileged and do not have enough to be sustainable and do not know any computer skills.
