1.2 Activity 17 Discussion Teen Arrive Alive GPS tracking system

Advantages: It helps parents feel and give teenages there trust if they have these GPS's to trust them. This helps the teenages also stay safe on the roads because they are being tracked meaning that the roads would be safer.
Disadvantages: It would mean that the teenager's feel they are not respected by there parents as it is an intrusion of privacy and they do not get any trust making them feel like adults. It could also make parents very anxious about when there children are out as they will be worrying and questioning themselves why are they there.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for young people 15 to 20 years of age.
Young people age 15-20 make up only seven percent of the driving population, yet they are involved in 14 percent of all traffic fatalities.
A larger percentage of fatal crashes involving teenage drivers are single-vehicle crashes compared to those involving other drivers. In this type of fatal crash, the vehicle usually leaves the road and overturns or hits a roadside object such as a tree or a pole.

In general, a smaller percentage of teens wear their seat belts compared to other drivers. A larger proportion of teen fatal crashes involve speeding, or going too fast for road conditions, compared to other drivers.

More teen fatal crashes occur when there are teenage passengers in the car, than do crashes involving other drivers.
