Different office based applications that could be used to improve the paper based system are - excel and word.
EXCEL:
The adavantages over the paper based system are that you can, type in your figures and it can do the formula for you. It will also allow you to interprit the data quicker as you will be able to guarenteee it is right.
WORD:
The adavantages over the paper based system are that you can type your work up and it will be checked automatically. You can also make different tables dependent on you data.
WORD VS EXCEL:
Word could be seen as better than excel because you can write reports under the data.
On the otherhand excel can present graphs from the data, which word can't and word will not check the calculations are right.
The employment of the secretaries and typists will be lower this is because many magers can do these themself, faster without involivng anybody else. It is also more normal to have secretaries who are personal assitances rather than typists. This is because the job does not take as much time to do now and people can be trained to use a computer in a number of days rather than years.
NEW JOBS:
Opportunities that have been opened up from this technolgy is jobs such as call centres,about there banking, insurance , computer helpdesk.
